Zachary Holmes
Advanced Science (Honors)
Australian National University

Zachary was Vice-captain at his school He attended the prestigious National Youth Science Forum in Canberra where he developed his love of science. He is looking at a research career in particle and quantum physics. He plays rugby union with the Broulee Dolphins as a second rower.

Alexys Hunter
Fine Arts
National Arts School

Alexys is a budding artist who specialises in oils and charcoal. After presenting her portfolio she has been accepted to study in Sydney where she will pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Alexys has already earned herself a reputation locally as a prize-winning artist through the 2023 Little Sellers Art Award.

Tane Simons
Interactive Design
University of Canberra

Tane completed his HSC in 2022 and spent a year working to travel to New Zealand and Europe. This year he will be studying a which will lead to a career in front-end web development. Tane is an active member of the Broulee Surf Club.

Angus Lyons
Engineering
University of Technology, Sydney.

Angus is a capable sportsman who plays several sports competitively. Meanwhile, at school he was the secretary of the STEM club (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). In his spare time, he is a keen inventor.

Marc Panesa
International Studies and Law
University of Sydney

Marc has a passion for literature, creative arts, online gaming, and writing poetry. He was an active member of the Eurobodalla Youth Council, as well as being Vice-Captain of his Student Representative Council.

Jacqueline Snowball
Sport and Exercise Science
University of Canberra

Jacqueline has been a school House Captain, volunteer lifesaver at Broulee and worked as a lifeguard at Bay Pavilions. She has a passion for many sports and has represented her school in rugby, soccer, basketball, cross country and athletics. Jacqueline will commence her training as a PE teacher.

Hamish Bush
Prosthetics and Orthotics
University of the Sunshine Coast.

Hamish found this calling through his work experience and his interest in assisting people with prosthetic limbs. To maximise his employability, Hamish has completed certification in RSA, RCG, food hygiene and barista training. He has been a lifeguard at Bay Pavilions and also worked as a technician at The Athletes Foot. Hamish is the RSL nominated grant recipient having had a Grandfather serve in WWII.

The Batemans Bay Youth Foundation recognises these young people who are taking their next step in their lives. The BBYF Grant they have received is a vote of confidence from the Batemans Bay community. We know they will, work hard, enjoy their tertiary life, and make us proud of you. We wish them all a successful future.

Grace Reid
Nursing
Australian Catholic University

Grace completed her HSC studies in 2022. She spent 2023 working to self-fund her travel adventures to New Zealand and Europe. She has worked long hours at Banksia Village and the Moruya Bakery to save for her university expenses. Grace encourages young people to explore casual employment in aged care as there are many options available and it is very rewarding work.
